Life has a way of leading you down the path of least resistance, if you don't have the brains to fight it. Pretty much sums up where I'm from. --jcs
Jae C. Steele plays a self-taught brand of contemporary country, blues, folk, pop, originals, and her own, sometimes very unique, interpretions of cover songs. Despite possessing hands the size of an eight-year-old, she takes on the music of James Taylor, Lindsey Buckingham, and John Fahey, to name a few of the artists that have influenced her work.
Steele's bluesy vocals fall into the junction of Peggy Lee and Bonnie Raitt with subtle hints of more-recent Joni Mitchell and Leon Redbone, a voice that perfectly enhances her interesting guitar work. Jae C.'s upbeat and intense delivery has been pleasing audiences throughout New England for years with her signature sound. Her unique fingerpicking style and creative arrangements, in particular, set her apart from many other female solo performers on the East Coast, making her music truly memorable and enjoyable.
Jae wishes to thank Julie Waters, the creator of this easy-to-navigate-and-maintain website. Check out her site--it's full of many pleasant treasures.
